Miss Mustard Seed: French Chair Makeover

Miss Mustard Seed: French Chair Makeover: "I have coveted and longed for and sighed over French chairs for years. They were always too expensive for me. This fall...it was..."

Out With the Old, In With the Yellow!

The green circles mark the things that are currently UNDER CONSTRUCTION! The red square was an idea that I had to paint the entire wall "cherry tree red" but I realized that I want to have the focal points in the room be small accessories and keep the walls a neutral aesthetic that serves as a canvas for all other pieces. Also, the red lantern and throw are left overs from my red, silver, and white Christmas theme; soon these will be replaced with a yellow throw and some other yellow centerpiece for that side table.

First Apartment Fun

So, we all know that a person's home reflects who they are, but sometimes that can be hard when you share that space for expression with 3 other people. Sometimes compromises must be made in order to ensure a tolerable and cohesive living environment. So I have been doing my best to make our home a great place to come home to without forcing my roommates to live with ALL of my ideas. This is my attempt to make our house a home.

It is now my attempt to keep y'all updated on the progress of this adventure, both the progression of the apartment and of my skill level. Keep checkin' in to see what I have come up with.

I have had a surge of craft/decorating blog obsession blossom in my interest and it has inspired me to continue to be thrifty, crafty, and creative. My apartment (that I share with 3 other college students) has been the guinea pig to my experimental mind. Having most of my influences come from blogs, it dawned on me that I should funnel my new found love into a blog, so that I can chronicle my growth as a creative artist in my newest conduit.

So for the next few days, my blog will be under construction and I will be creating a new craft/decor blog from the point of view of a busy, penny-pinching college student.

NAME TO FOLLOW!

Check back soon,
Ethan.

Yesterday was the first day of the Fall semester at AMDA. Now, if you are not a student at The American Musical and Dramatic ACademy, then I am sure you will be astounded by the oddity that is the "AMDA Schedule"; I know I am. AMDA is a wonderfully beneficial institution, but the administration of the school is often something else. I am very excited to see where this semester will take me. I have a lot of ideas and aspirations for what I can achieve during this academic term. I will do everything in my power to make all my dreams come true.

I have realized as of late, late being only moments ago in my bathroom, that I must hold no validity in other's opinions. Yes, that may sound bold and irrational; however, there is wisdom to be found within. Being that I am a very susceptible to the judgments of my peers and superiors, I often find myself questioning my worth as an artist and as a human. A kind accolade from one to another is gladly received; haplessly, it brings with it an unfortunate gravity to the inclination of others. My newest goal, with the welcome aid of my latest revelation, is to proceed forward with a deaf ear for sentiment; a blind eye to deductive smirks; and a open heart. A heart that will keep my passion alive, thriving and inextinguishable. The only object standing in the way of me and success is doubt. I am my own maker and destroyer (in an earthly or vocational manner). I will choose and begin my career, with the help of no one other than myself; personal trust, love, and self-worth are my only allies. With passion and drive, I do inaugurate my beginning.

Thank you.

The never-ending path...

"The best things in life are unexpected, BECAUSE there were no expectations." - Eli Khamarov

My life is filled with so much expectation, that it is often hard to recognize the things life provides for me free of worry. I am never patient, never calm, always waiting. It is time to stop and count my blessings. Thank you for what you have given me.
